Planting the Seeds for a Positive Birth

 

Whether you plan to give birth in a hospital or at home, with or without medication, scheduled cesarean or VBAC, this class will prepare you to cultivate the childbirth experience you desire. Topics include how to deal with common pregnancy discomforts, exercises that can help both your mind and body get ready to give birth, birth options, what to expect at the hospital, the birth process, pain management and comfort techniques, how to care for a newborn, and how to care for yourself after having a baby. 

Plan to include one support person. Class size is limited. Classes are held in downtown Sheridan (directions will be provided when you register.)

 

SEPTEMBER   Saturday morning classes, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Sept 15 Class 2: The Mechanics of Birth

Sept 22  Class 3: Comfort and Coping Techniques During Labor

Sept 29  Class 4: Postpartum and Newborn Care

Oct 27  One-day childbirth class 2:00 pm-6:00pm

 

Planting the Seeds for Confident Breastfeeding  

 

Whether you are breastfeeding for the first time, are supporting a breastfeeding mom, or just want to know more about breastfeeding, this one-hour class will help get you off to a great start and show you some helpful resources.

Plan to include your partner or another support person/caregiver. Class size is limited.

 

Saturday July 14  2:00-3:00 pm

 

Blossom​ing Babies

 

Have you spent little time around newborn babies? Has it been a long time since you've handled a newborn baby? Come learn how they look, how they act, and what to do with them. 

This class is ideal for prospective adoptive parents or new grandparents (many things have changed since our babies were born, so make sure you are up-to-date on infant care recommendations!)

Plan to include one support person. Class size is limited.

Comfort and Coping in Labor

 

If you have already given birth, but this will be your first unmedicated birth, this class is ideal for you. We will briefly brush up on what happens during labor and focus our attention on techniques that will bring you comfort while you are in labor and giving birth.
